Tjaka is a dynamic music group from Meanjin/Brisbane, Australia, comprising brothers Geoff and Jake Fabila, their cousin Luke, and close friend Felix Fogarty. The name "Tjaka" is derived from "Tjakamarra," the skin name given to the Fabila brothers, who are proud descendants of the Jabirr Jabirr tribe in Western Australia's Kimberley region. Their music uniquely fuses electronic, funk, and hip-hop elements with Aboriginal ancestral influences, blending traditional instruments like the Didjeribone—a slide didgeridoo similar to a trombone—and the Face Bass, a seismic microphone used inside the mouth, with modern beats and rap flows. Their latest single, "In A Box," released on March 11, 2025, exemplifies their genre-blending style. The track challenges conventional labeling, encouraging experimentation and self-expression without boundaries. The band drew inspiration from genre-defying artists such as N.E.R.D, Limp Bizkit, Beastie Boys, and A Tribe Called Quest.
