Slung is a Brighton-based alternative rock band known for their dynamic blend of blistering riffs, sinister drum patterns, and sweet vocals, all wrapped in a 90's slacker rock nostalgia.
Their latest single, "Laughter," delves into complex family dynamics, particularly the challenging relationships between parents and children. Vocalist Katie Oldham explains that the song addresses the longing for parental attention and approval, and the pain of emotional absence, leading to resentment and confrontation as one grows older.
"Laughter" is featured on their upcoming debut album, In Ways, set to release on May 2, 2025, via Fat Dracula. The album is a collaborative effort reflecting the members' experiences and musicianship, with influences ranging from Deftones and Baroness to Queens of the Stone Age and Fleetwood Mac.
