Enola Gay is a noise-punk quartet from Belfast, Northern Ireland, formed in late 2019. Their music blends aggressive punk energy with elements of hip-hop, electronica, and techno, creating a distinctive and dynamic sound. The band's lineup includes Fionn Reilly and Joe McVeigh, who contribute to the group's intense and uncompromising style. In August 2024, Enola Gay released the single "Cortana", showcasing a shift from their earlier feral soundscapes to a more refined approach. The track features venomous hip-hop-inspired vocals layered over unforgiving guitars and a rhythm section influenced by left-field electronica and techno. The lyrics delve into themes of personal struggle and societal observations, reflecting the band's commitment to addressing contemporary issues through their music. "Cortana" is part of their third EP, "Mournes", released in 2024. This EP marks a significant evolution in their sound, incorporating influences from artists like Daniel Avery. The band has gained recognition for their energetic live performances and has been featured in prominent publications such as NME and Rolling Stone. Enola Gay continues to push the boundaries of the noise-punk genre, offering a fresh and innovative perspective within the contemporary music scene. Band Page: https://linktr.ee/enolagay
