Music of the Day: Empty Threats - phone call

Writer's picture: dailyentertainment95dailyentertainment95

Empty Threats are a five-piece band from Adelaide, South Australia, describing themselves as a queer post-punk/noise-rock group. They blend modern post-punk with 80s Australiana rock, often incorporating political and personal themes into their music. Known for their energetic live shows, they have been compared to bands like The Oils and The Rolling Stones in terms of stage presence. Their new single, "Phone Call," was released recently, on February 27, 2025, and is the first new music from their upcoming second album, "Happy Birthday," scheduled for release in July 2025. The song's title originates from something a police officer said to the band's lead vocalist, Stu Patterson. Band Page: https://www.instagram.com/theemptythreats/
