Coop a Loop is the solo project of Philadelphia-based bass virtuoso Eric Cooper. After years of contributing tight bass and deep pocket playing to various ensembles across Philadelphia, Cooper launched this project to explore the full potential of the bass guitar. Utilizing a loop station and effects pedals, he crafts compositions that blend funky bass grooves with memorable melodies, creating a unique sound that defies typical expectations of a "looping bass player." His music incorporates elements of electronic, funk, jam, indie, and ambient genres. In January 2025, Coop a Loop released a new single titled "Bubbles." This track represents a significant evolution in his songwriting and playing, showcasing his innovative use of the bass guitar to create complex, layered compositions.
