KEYS are a band from Cardiff, Wales, fronted by Matthew Evans. While previously known for their lo-fi powerpop sound, exemplified in their album 'Home Schooling', their new single "What Flavour?" marks a bold stylistic shift. Inspired by the early 1980s New York post-disco underground scene (think ESG, Liquid Liquid), "What Flavour?" is a rhythmic and urgent track with funk-punk influences. The song playfully originated from a child's question about ice cream choices, but evolves into a deeper exploration of desire, anxiety, and craving.
