A fast-paced judicial thriller in which an inexperienced criminal lawyer takes on the case of a young man accused of murdering a neighbor. Nora, a young 26-year-old lawyer who recently graduated from law school, feels like she has no real experience when she faces her first criminal law case. From her first meeting with her client in police custody and throughout the investigation, Nora discovers the cruelty of the world around her, both in her private and professional life.
