The family circumstances are tragic: Leni is battling an illness that is breaking her down, and her mother is working day and night (as a lady of the night) to take care of her daughter and her health. There is little imagination in their lives. Until the day Marcel comes along, a playwright marked by aloofness who will find his convictions challenged by Leni’s desire to make the most of life. In a world where everything is preordained, these three characters will play an important role in each other’s lives. A nuanced account of a vulnerable yet cocky modern Hamlet and a series of self-conscious, highly intriguing cinematic games weaves a unique story about close encounters of the rarest kind. 2 nominations international film festivals.
