As streamers tend to lean on catalog and unscripted content during talent strikes, tracking service Reelgood analyzed both the popularity of streamers’ catalog and the amount of unscripted content at each service.Reelgood conducted an analysis of the catalogs of eight major streaming services and discovered that subscribers tend to overlook the vast offerings of big catalog libraries, instead favoring the latest hits and trending titles. The study found that only 5% of the services’ catalog movies and TV shows was in Reelgoods’ “most popular” rankings, indicating that catalog is not being watched much by consumers.
